Today’s tip is Clear Stamp and Die Storage.
I love
clear stamps that have coordinating dies!
I have accumulated a decent collection over the past year and kept
changing the way I would store them. At
first I was storing them in page protectors in a 3 ring binder. This worked out great until the binder was
packed full! I saw a video from Jennifer McGuire on how
she stored her stamps and loved it! Here
is my version…
I use 8” x 5-1/2” sheet protectors that I purchased from
Office Max. I cut an 8-1/2” x 11” piece
of white cardstock in half to put into each sheet protector. I trim off the edge that has the holes punched for binder storage. I labeled the top and slid my stamp set into
the sheet protector. I love that I can
easily flip through my stamp sets. I
loved this so much that I found a way to store my dies in the same sheet
protectors.
I purchased magnetic vent covers at Lowe’s. They come 3 to a pack and each piece is 8”x15”. I cut each piece into 3 8”x5”
sections. This is a perfect size for the sheet protectors! These are thin and very easy to cut with scissors or a craft knife. I glued the magnetic vent cover to the white
cardstock and put that into the sheet protector. If a stamp set has matching dies I just cut a
piece of the vent cover to put my dies on and slide it into the back of the
“pocket” that my stamps are in.
You can store these “pockets” in any bin or basket. I just got decorated storage bins at Jo Ann
Fabrics for my stamp sets and store them on a shelf. I put my dies into a basket that sits beside
my Big Shot machine. This system also
allows me to add to my collection without reinventing a storage solution!
So there you have it!
An easy, inexpensive, and functional storage solution for your clear
stamps and dies.

Thanks for sharing a great idea about stamp and die storage! I was really struggling with how to store dies, but I will be heading to Lowes tomorrow! I currently store my stamps in their original packaging (if I have it and in plastic sleeves if I don't) in a black square basket that I got from IKEA. My craft room furniture is mostly black or black-brown IKEA so it coordinates well. :) TFS Hugs, Kristina
ReplyDeleteIKEA is one of my favorite stores! I can walk around there for hours!! :)
DeleteI have been influenced my Jennifer's suggestions too. I bought a refrigerator bin and put my stamp sets in there but haven't made the dividers yet or bought plastic sleeves. Thanks for your suggestion on using the sheet protectors--I will check them out. My dies are in cd cases or in an ArtBin container that has magnetic pages.
ReplyDeleteGreat system! I have been buying a lot of dies lately so I am going to have to do this! Off to Lowes and Office Max! :)
